Support for young people

If you are a young person and have a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND) like ADHD, Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Dyslexia, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, or any other condition that affects your day to day life or ability to learn, SIASS is here for you!

We want to give you the information and advice you need to make informed choices about your education, health, and social care. Have a question or need some guidance? Call us, email us, or pop us a message in the chat! Follow us on Instagram @Sutton_iass for  fresh content specifically for young people with SEND!

At 16, you have a legal right to make your own decisions. We can offer you information, advice and support about things to do with being disabled or having special educational needs. We can help if you need information, advice and support on:

  • Education
  • Health
  • Social care
  • Getting your views across;
  • Finding out what support is available for you and opportunities in Sutton.

If we can’t help you with something, then we can try and find another place that can help.

Our service is confidential – that means we will only tell people what we talk about if you say it’s ok, but we also need to tell someone if we think you are in danger of being hurt.

Our service is impartial – that means we will not tell you what to do. We will give you information you need to make your own choices.

The help we offer is free.

If you are 16-25 years old, you have a legal right to request an EHCNA and to be involved in all of the decisions and meetings of that process. Here’s a video from the young people of Rotherham SENDIASS service:
