Young People and EHCPs

An Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is there to support you and to help make sure your needs, views and goals are understood as you move through education and towards adult life.

As a young person, you have legal rights around your EHCP, including the right to be involved in decisions, share your views, and—in many cases—make choices about your support yourself. This can feel confusing or overwhelming, and SIASS is here to help.

We can provide information and advice to help you:

  • Understand what an EHCP is and what it should include
  • Know your rights and what decisions you can make
  • Prepare for EHCP reviews and meetings
  • Share your views, wishes and goals in a way that works for you
  • Understand options for education, training, employment and preparing for adulthood

You can contact SIASS independently, and we will listen to what matters most to you. Our aim is to help you feel informed, confident and supported to take an active role in planning your future.
