What is SIASS?

SIASS means Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service.

  • We help children and young people with SEND, and their families.
  • We give free, private (confidential), and fair (impartial) advice
  • We help you understand your rights and speak up for yourself
  • We support you to get the help you need in school or college

How quickly will we reply?

  • First contact: within 2 working days
  • Your caseworker replies (where assigned): within 5 working days
  • Meetings: we need at least 2 weeks’ notice

What can you expect from us?

  • We are fair and don’t take sides
  •  We help you set goals and plan next steps
  •  We help you feel confident to speak up
  •  You may get a named worker (not always)
  •  You should only need to tell your story once
  •  Support can by phone, email, in person or online
